Anti-Tampering  Technology  for  Drug  Packaging  Launched Pharmaceutical  company  Schreiner  MediPharm  has  launched  a  transparent-hologram  seal  to  protect  drugs  from  tamper  and  counterfeiting.

The  company  based  in  Blauvelt,  New  York,  US,  said  the  seal  which  features  a  2D  single-image  design,  will  protect  the  product  from  counterfeiting.

The  seal,  which  holds  batch  information,  can  be  traced  if  any  attempts  are  made  to  open  the  product. Another  company  Catalent  Pharma  has  developed  DigiTrack,  which  adds  a  covert  watermark  on  the  packaging  by  embedding  a  unique  pattern  directly  on  existing  package  graphics.
The  printed  watermark  is  visible  to  the  naked  eye  and  can  be  only  identified  by  a  web-enabled  mobile  phone,  computer  or  hand-held  reader.
The  code  on  the  packaging  can  be  identified  as  a  match  to  specific  unit.
Track-and-trace  data  is  then  transmitted  to  the  user's  device  for  instant  product  ID  and  origin  to  verify  authenticity.@@@###$$$
