＊ 烏茲別克是中亞人口最多的國家。有人口２６１０萬；烏茲別克自然資源豐富，國民經濟支柱產業是“四金”：黃金、“白金”（棉花）、“烏金”（石油）、“藍金”（天然氣）。農業、畜牧業和採礦業發達。礦產資源豐富，礦產資源儲量總價值約３.５萬億美元。黃金儲量居世界第四位，在獨聯體居第二位。煤儲量為２０億噸，水力資源豐富。天然氣的產量僅次於土庫曼，居中亞第二位、獨聯體第三位。機械製造、有色金屬、黑色金屬、輕紡和絲綢等工業都比較發達。所處氣候帶有利於廣泛發展農業經濟，農業特點是灌溉農業的水利基礎設施發達，灌溉地面積達４２５萬公頃。農業支柱產業是棉花種植業，桑蠶業、畜牧業、蔬菜瓜果種植業也佔重要地位。棉花年產量佔前蘇聯棉花產量的三分之二，居世界第四位，被譽為“白金之國”。畜牧業較發達，以養羊為主，養蠶業也較發達。烏茲別克是古“絲綢之路”所經地區，全國有４０００多處自然和人文景觀，主要集中在塔什幹、撒馬爾罕、布哈拉、希瓦等城市。進口機械設備、食品、工業原料等。
